Below are some of the specials that we've been asked to fabricate & just like our standard & non-standard units, everything we make is made-to-order so please get in touch if you have a special project that you need help with.
All pricing is on request.
If you are specifically looking for a scratcher then please visit our Scraaaatch™ website - the Stool & Pipe scratchers below were the catalyst for this big, bold & colourful line of products.
We've also developed a modular version of the Hicat® Fatcat cat climber with a twist - Catapilla™ is made up of modular compartments that can be stacked up to four units high & rotated independently of each other in 360°.
If you are looking for something very special then a wool covered Hicat® is hard to beat & they make-up some of our finest creations to date - our favourite was a range produced by Crucial Trading called Tibet.
The carpet is very soft to the touch & has a wide rib, which is sized similar to the coir but machine woven onto a black fabric membrane so technically more regular in terms of weave than the coir - it's also as easy to climb as coir, doesn't shed fibres & creates a cleaner aesthetic finish when compared to the standard coir.
Please note we have limited stock of the Tibet Wild Cat in stock but Tibet Wolf is no longer available to order - sorry.
Freestanding Fatcat 4
With the addition of a bespoke floor plate we've created a completely free-standing version of our Fatcat 4 - the second, third & fourth Access Holes were positioned 400mm lower than standard to reduce the units height down to 1830mm.
Climb-through W2, W3 & W4 Worm Hole Shelves have been specified under each Access Hole along with a Worm Hole Bird Nest to allow full height internal climbing.
To create this freestanding unit we had to develop an internal mounting collar that is concealed in to the bottom of the Hicat® & this construction gives the unit the strength to turn it in to a free-standing structure when secured to its 720mm diameter base.
Fatcat 1, 2 & 3 versions of this unit can also be fabricated but unfortunatley Tomcat & Polecat units don't have a big enough footprint to allow us to make these in a freestanding option.
We've experimented with a modular freestanding version of our Fatcat, which we named Catapilla™ - it's made up of interconnecting stackable compartments that can be rotated independently of each other in 360°.
The Body compartments are 400mm & there's a 470mm high Bird Nest Top compartment to finish off the - it can be stacked four units high when mounted on it's 720mm diameter base.
Polecat Wall Shelf
Polecat units can be fabricate with an integrated wall mounted shelf that can be finished in either coir, twist pile or painted - this set-up is particularly good for customers on a budget who want to give their cat a high perch.
Sisal Rope Pole
This was the first version of a Hicat® that we built - it was covered in 10mm diameter sisal rope & had acrylic end caps but can be made using 6mm, 8mm or 10mm diameter jute or sisal rope & finished with just a wound rope end detail.
We've made high level bridges that connect to the top of Tomcat & Fatcat units & extend on to either room features, furniture or another Hicat® - the walkway is normally a 200-250mm wide coir covered MDF shelf & can extend up to around 1200mm from the Hicat® unit.
Used as stepping stones these were specifically made to help an older cat access our units - the podiums were sized as our Tomcat units i.e. 337mm diameter & had flat tops covered in coir.
These simple clean looking shelves are generally made between 400-800mm long, 250mm deep & 50mm thick.
They can be covered in Twist Pile Carpet or Coir & are secured using a concealed fixing to give a modern contemporary look but because of loadings these shelves need to be installed onto masonry walls.
Tall Bobcat Storage
This was a one-of-a-kind 700mm Bobcat that was fabricated to specifically test a new ribbed wool fabric that we wanted to use on our floor-to-ceiling units.
The internal finish was a Black Twist Pile & because the unit was made for our cats we also took the opportunity to build in a concealed compartment to store their toys.
