Bobcat Assembly

We recommend filling podium units with dry sand to prevent them toppling - we recommend using kiln dried paving sand as this will be dry & won’t clump when filling noting that you can pour the sand directly into the filling hole but things can get tricky so using a small funnel with be easier & less messy.

Fire sand is also dried out so easy to pour but very expensive compared to play pit or kiln dried sand - builders & silica sand (aka silver sand) is easy to shop for but will probably be damp & need to be completely dried out before use.

10kg of sand for a standard height Bobcat is about right but this should be be increased for taller units - 1000mm high units will take around 20kg of sand.

Always test the amount of ballast before allowing you cat/cats to use the Bobcat to make sure that you’re happy that it won’t topple during use - as always, safety first so we think that you are better off overdoing it, rather than under-doing it, with regards to the amount of ballast.
