Bobcat Assembly

We recommend filling podium units with dry sand to prevent them toppling - access the ballast chamber filling hole by lifting the twist pile insert in the bottom compartment & removing the grommet.

We recommend using kiln dried paving sand as this will be dry & won’t clump when filling noting that you can pour the sand directly into the filling hole from the sand bag but it may be easier to use a mug or small jug to scoop the sand into the ballast chamber - give the Bobcat a little shake while filling to level out the sand in the ballast chamber.

10kg of sand for a standard height Bobcat is about right but this should be be increased for taller units - 1000mm high units will take around 20kg of sand.

You can move the unit around by tilting it slightly then carefully “walking” the Bobcat on its feet - never lift the Bobcat using the access hole or by gripping the body as this could damage the internal collar inside the ballast chamber.

Always test the amount of ballast before allowing you cat/cats to use the Bobcat to make sure that you’re happy that it won’t topple during use - as always, safety first so we think that you are better off overdoing it, rather than under-doing it, with regards to the amount of ballast.
