Bobcat Assembly
You’ll need at least 10kg of kiln dried paving sand & a large cross headed screwdriver to assemble your Bobcat.
You can use other types of ballast like gravel, basically anything that is dry & will level out, but kiln dried paving sand has proven to be the most economical & easy to handle - if you’ve ordered a bespoke Tall Bobcat the ballast needs to increase for example we would recommend at least 20kg of ballast for a 100cm tall Bobcat.
Fill the ballast chamber through the plug under the Twist Pile Carpet insert in the Access Hole Compartment - you can fill the unit by pouring the ballast directly into the chamber but it may be easier & less messy to use a mug or small jug to scoop the ballast into the chamber.
You can pour the sand directly into the filling hole from the sand bag but it may be easier to use a mug or small jug to scoop the sand into the ballast chamber - give the Bobcat a little shake while filling to level out the sand in the ballast chamber.
Move the unit around by tilting it slightly then carefully “walking” the Bobcat on its feet - never lift the Bobcat using the access hole or by gripping the body as this could damage the internal collar inside the ballast chamber.
Always test the amount of ballast before allowing you cat/cats to use the Bobcat to make sure that you’re happy that it won’t topple during use - as always, safety first so we think that you are better off overdoing it, rather than under-doing it, with regards to the amount of ballast.
After assembling your Bocat give the unit a good vacuum inside & out to remove any loose fibres & sand.
We love hearing from customers & their cats on what they think of their Hicat® so feel free to get in touch & send a piccie or two.
