Natural Coir Supply Update
We’ve just found out that the Natural Coir carpet that we use on our products has been discontinued by our supplier - this was completely out of the blue without any warning from Kersaint Cobb, our current supplier, noting that we purchase the same carpet from Crucial Trading, who are part of the Headlam group of companies who own Kersaint Cobb, but they have have also discontinued this particular carpet.
We have managed to purchase some stock from wholesalers who had remnants available & after looking at options will change back to our previous supplier Alternative Flooring for this carpet supply - pricing isn’t affected, however we wanted to note that changing to this new supplier will mean there will be a slight colour variation between suppliers.
The Alternative Flooring carpet, shown on the right in the photos below has an earthier hue to it compared to the more golden Kersaint Cobb/Crucial Trading coir that we’ve been using for the last 15 years or so - we are going to double check with Alternative Flooring that the sample that we’ve been sent is representative of stock going forward & tweak our photos on the website where necessary to try & reflect this change in material where there is an obvious difference in colour.
We actually used Alternative Flooring for our carpet supplies when we started Hicat® back in 2008 & at the time there were other colours available including our Bark & Bleached Coir, which become obsolete ages ago, but are represented on some of our units in our Hicat® Gallery along with other obsolete finsihes.
