A Bit Rough Around The Edges...

Our cat’s AVM Wool Fatcat & Polecat have been in use for around 10 years & although felting is evident & seams look a bit tied our units are still very much fit for purpose - we made this combo for our gang of 4 in late 2012 & it’s been used daily ever since so wear & tear is to be expected but this can be tidied up.

As the before & after photos below show badly felted surface can be trimmed with scissors or shaved - we’ve used a sweater pilling comb, hair scissors & beard trimmer to tidy things up & these all do the job.

Worn areas around Access Hole, Peep Holes or back seams can be treated by applying twist pile fibres to hide any damage to the membrane - a dab of glue between seams that have opened & underneath open weave that has come undone will also help make things more presentable.

If you need to carry out some running repairs we are happy to send out some fibres (twist pile or coir depending on your Hicat®) but would recommend investing in a hot melt glue gun to apply the fibres or repair seams - these can be found online & the basic ones with a couple of glue sticks are as cheap as chips.
