Rustica Or Alaska...
Choosing which one of these Bespoke Finishes to go for always raises questions from customers so we’ve produced the following comparison to help decide - both carpets are produced by Crucial Trading & have a similar feel to the touch being made from 100% Wool, both are moth repellant, they won’t fade & are untreated with stain protector as standard.
Rustica has a total pile height of 12mm & vertical ribs measure 8mm - Alaska has a total pile height of 18mm & ribs measure 12mm.
The retail cost for these carpets are £96m2 for Rustica & £167m2 for Alaska so we always look to buy remnants as these end of roll & unwanted cuts are still brand new & unused but come at heavily disocunted prices - as an example buying a remnant for a Freestanding Fatcat will add around £100 to the cost of the unit as opposed to twice that when purchasing from Crucial Trading at our 50% discounted trade pricing.
They both make up in a similar style because of the horizontal weave but the Alaska has a looser more chunky look to it around folds because of the larger pile & weave as can be seen in our Gallery section.
For reference the finishes below are Pale Grey Rustica (left) & Silver Squirrel Alaska - both ranges have a white backing mebrane that does become partly exposed around Wrapped Ends, Access Holes & Recessed Tops when the carpet is folded.
