Cat Curiosity Concluded...

We thought we had concluded things with our fishy cat tree purchase & did initially receive a refund from our card issuer American Express but this has been reversed so we’ve cancelled our card - Amex confirmed that they had escalated our compliant when we brought to their attention that the missing consignment information & import documents would show that what was sent was not a very large cat tree, instead a postcard sized item, but they did not change the dispute decision.

Whilst closing our account the Amex representative asked if they could read the notes before cancelling our card & to their surprise read out that the packaging info was investigated & what was delivered weighed .001kg, not the expected 30-40kg weight of the 2.2m tall cat climber - the representative said that they had heard of this type of scam before & Amex had set up a procedure for tackling it when Amex customers made a purchases for a television for example but received a pen.

They were very apologetic for missing this & said they would investigate - sadly Pinterest still have numerous dodgy adverts & offers for the same product on their website so the penny hasn’t dropped yet with them or they don’t seem to care.
