Shelf Help...

Here’s a quick guide to shelf options & features for our Tomcat, Bobcat & Fatcat showing photos taken from the front of a nude section of a Fatcat core - the shelves are also in their unfinished state apart from the Storage Lids, which are painted black as standard, & the MDF inserts which are normally unpainted.

Our Access Hole Compartments are created using a Full Shelf top & bottom to make a 400mm high compartment - you have the option of swapping the bottom Full Shelf for a Climb-Through Shelf to enable your cat to climb between compartments & we can provide MDF along with twist pile inserts to cover the aperture as previously explained on our CHAT blog to turn it back into a full shelf size.

There’s also a bespoke option to create a cosy private chamber below a Climb-Through Access Hole Compartment - we recommend rotating the Climb-Through Shelf through 180º when specifying a chamber so the opening in the shelf is facing the front of the Access Hole & you can easily get to your cat.

Worm Hole Shelves are another bespoke feature that use an alternate climb-through style shelf to the normal crescent shape & is able to be rotated in any position inside the unit - this is useful if you want to create an internal ladder type configuration for say elderly cats but is also used in Recessed Tops in place of a Full Shelf so that cats can climb up & down inside the unit to & from this perch.

Storage Compartment are the most recent addition to our units & turn a Bobcat into a storage unit accessed through the Recessed Top - we can also replicate this Storage Compartment in our Fatcat units below an Access Hole Compartment but substitute the single piece lid for a two piece lid.
