Bellissimo Polecat…

For those who don’t follow us on Instagram we’ve just despatched a very special Wall Mounted Polecat to Telefona Difesa Animali in Capriano Del Colle, Italy - this animal welfare association recently got in touch to say that the Tomcat that we donated back in 2016 has seen better days.

Their Tomcat is used by around 30 cats usually residing at the centre so is well used & worn but rather than dispose of the unit the charity wanted to repair their Hicat® so we are sending some coir offcuts to enable them to undertake their own DIY project.

This Polecat is an additional piece that will be sited in a separate recovery room to provide some climbing in style & has been fabricated with acrylic features, as opposed to wrapped ends & MDF surfaces, to help with hygiene & cleaning - other special features include an extended stainless steel foot to allow the floor around the unit to be easily cleaned & mopped without soaking the unit along with a beefed up core to handle the additional weight that the unit needs to hold.

We’ve also come up with a treatment for the cut ends that abut the Acrylic End Caps to help reduce fraying & also used this process along the seams to help with wear & tear - if this this new treatment does the trick we will look at using it on product details that are more prone to wear & tear.
