DIY C-Panel Install
The kit comes with universal wall plugs that allow the C-Panel to be installed onto plasterboard, timber or masonry walls noting that a special masonry drill bit may be required for masonry walls.
Start by setting out your panel position on the wall marking up top left & right hand corners then back batten positions in relation to this - if installing on plasterboard it is preferable to fix into timber joist to get the best fixing but not essential.
Install the top wall batten first levelling out with a spirit level then mark up the drilling holes - it’s important to note that the battens will not have the pre-drilled holes set out to the exact positions so mark up the battens & make sure you fix the same batten to the mark-up otherwise the holes won’t align.
Drill the fixing holes at least 40mm deep then install the wall plugs - once you’ve fixed the top batten measure down to mark-up the bottom batten at the same distance apart as the batten layout on the back board.
Follow the same mark-up, drilling & fixing for the bottom batten making sure that the battens are installed with the hanging groove facing up, not down - as noted on the DIY C-Panel page if you haven’t designed in the safety feature at each end of the battens on the back board to stop the panel sliding, you can add screws at either end of the battens on the wall to re-create this feature.
You’re then ready to hang the C-Panel but make sure you give the panel the once over & are happy with stability & safety before allowing your cats to climb on it.
