Freestanding Tomcat & Fatcat Assembly

Units come complete with an installation pack that contains all of the tools & fixings required to assemble your Hicat® noting that freestanding units can weigh up to 70kg so you will probably need an extra pair of hands to assemble your Hicat®.

After unpacking your Hicat® give the unit a good vacuum inside & out to remove any loose fibres.

Lay the Hicat® across a sofa or sturdy table with the Access Hole facing up - it’s best to remove your cat/cats from the room when you are doing this as they may want to supervise the proceedings.

Assemble the Base by locating the bolts with washers into holes on the bottom of the Hicat® - the three outer holes are for Fatcat & the three inner holes are for Tomcat noting that the centre hole isn’t required for this assembly.

Lift the Hicat® into its upright position taking the weight at the back of the unit whilst using the Access Holes as handles without putting pressure or weight on the edges of the base - if you only have Access Holes positioned at the top of the unit wrap a sheet around the bottom & use this to lift the unit into position.

We recommend un-assembling the Hicat® from the base if you need to relocate the unit - tilting & moving the Hicat® with the base attached could damage the internal collar in the bottom of the unit.

If assembling on a hard floor place the Felt Discs under the Base when lifting the unit into it’s final position - these are best laid out equi-distant from each other & inset from the edge slightly.

We love hearing from customers & their cats on what they think of their Hicat® so feel free to get in touch & send a piccie or two.
