Coir Stock Update...

We started to unwrap our last roll of Tatami Coir this week & it wasn’t a pretty site - the carpet is badly discoloured so we won’t be able to use this stock apart from a 100cm wide cut that we’ve been able to to salvage.

We initially thought that the damage was down to the flooding but after unrolling the complete length it’s apparent that the problem is that this cut was rolled before the backing completely cured as the latex has stuck to the weave in places & there’s a sandy residue evident.

As things stand we have a few cuts of Tatami Coir that can be used for Tomcat & Polecat, but not wide enough for Fatcat, & won’t be importing any more bespoke coir as previously noted, including Peat Coir, which we are down to our last few cuts as well - Natural will be our only coir boucle finish available to order across our made-to-measure, Catapilla™ & Cat Wall™ products.

Before we dispose of this discoloured stock we wanted to offer it up to anyone who can make use of it & is prepared to collect it from our SE1 studio - we have a 2.6m & 3.9m cut both 4m wide so please get in touch if you are interested in taking this.
