DIY Polecat Update

We’ve updated our DIY Polecat page to include a few fabrication revisions but are planning on a complete revamp once things have quietened down after our winter break - the new DIY page will be updated to show the fabrication process using a PVC drain pipe, rather than cardboard tube, along with the option of having made up end cap assemblies sent out in place of the kit, which is obviously going to save lots of time & mean fewer tools.

This has been prompted by some research that we did when we were away & as noted on the updated DIY page, the really important point is that we’ve previously noted a generic 6” drain pipe as the preferred DIY option but have discovered that a Metric 160mm SDR41 PVC pipe has the same internal diameter as our cardboard tubes so this has enabled us to offer the pre-assembled end caps as an option to the MDF offcuts.

We think that this makes the cardboard tube DIY guide obsolete hence the revamp - the Metric 160mm SDR41 type PVC pipes are readily available across the UK & Europe but even if you struggle to find this exact type of PVC drain pipe the generic 6” that we’ve previously noted is still going to be a more practical option for the DIY Polecat.
