Scraaatch™ Assembly

Pipe, Stand Pipe & Stool can be assembled by hand & need to be filled with dry sand to act as ballast - we recommend using kiln dried paving sand as this won’t clump when filling noting that you can pour the sand directly into the filling hole but things can get tricky so using a small funnel will be easier & less messy.

Fire sand is also dried out so easy to pour but very expensive compared to kiln dried sand - play pit, builders & silica sand (aka silver sand) is easy to shop for but will probably be damp & need to be completely dried out before use.

Pipe & Stand Pipe should be completely filled with 10kg of sand then sealed using the round black sticker included with the connectors noting that Stool legs can also be filled if it moves when scratched - Wall Pipe doesn’t need ballast but you will need a drill & medium sized cross headed screwdriver to install the unit.

To install Wall Pipe start by assembling the unit with wall brackets attached, orientated inwards under the Pipe body - brackets locate over the end cap connectors & need to be rotated at the same angle before tightening so that they will be flush to the wall when installed.

Hold the Wall Pipe against the wall & mark-up the bracket positions making sure you scribe marks on both sides & the end of the brackets - disassemble the unit & use the brackets to mark up the hole positions noting that the brackets may not be identical in terms of fixing holes so best to use the one with an X marked on it as the top bracket.

Drill the fixing holes using the enclosed bit at least 40mm deep & then install the fixing plugs making sure they are fully inserted & flush with the wall.

Fix brackets with screw cups between screw head & bracket then reassemble the Pipe.

NB before we despatch items we assemble pieces to check the alignments & threads on inserts, which means that there will probably be surface marks on the inner faces of end caps & the underside of seats.
